Ayodhya Upgrades Urban Transit with Advanced Intelligent Traffic Management System

Ayodhya: In a major push toward modernizing its urban infrastructure, the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has officially rolled out the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) across five prominent intersections in the city. Aimed at streamlining vehicular movement and eliminating chronic congestion, this high-tech initiative ensures safer and more systematic commuting for residents and visitors alike, guided by automated signaling. The system was inaugurated by Mayor Mahant Girishpati Tripathi from the centralized ITMS control room located within the Jal Kal premises.

Expanding the High-Tech Traffic Network

Prior to this launch, the intelligent system was only operational at the Rikabganj intersection. The network has now been expanded to cover four additional high-traffic areas, including Shanti Chowk (Naka), the Gudri Bazar intersection, the Post Office intersection, and the Pushpraj intersection near the Police Lines. Mayor Tripathi emphasized that incorporating cutting-edge technology is vital to transforming Ayodhya into a model smart city. He further announced that within the coming week, the system will be deployed at several other critical points, including Hanuman Gufa on Dharampath, the Civil Lines intersection, Devkali Bypass, and the Manucha intersection, to further rid the city of severe traffic bottlenecks.

Instant Distress Communication via Emergency Boxes

Parallel to traffic regulation, the municipal administration has integrated a robust public safety layer by installing Emergency Call Boxes at twenty vital intersections. To ensure public awareness, specialized instructive stickers have been affixed to these communication booths. In the event of an unexpected crisis, such as a road accident, medical emergency, theft, or any security threat, citizens can simply press the integrated SOS button. This triggers an immediate alert, establishing a direct communication link with both the municipal corporation and local police headquarters for rapid emergency response.

Future Phase of the Smart City Transit Blueprint

Looking ahead, the civic body has already prepared a comprehensive blueprint to scale this infrastructure to fifteen additional strategic locations across the city. The upcoming phase will see the system implemented at Nishad Raj Chowk (Tedhi Bazar), Shri Ram Hospital Tiraha, Lata Chowk, Hanuman Gufa Chowk, Saket Petroleum, and both the Devkali Bypass and Devkali Tiraha. Additionally, key points such as Agrasen Tiraha, Raebareli Bypass, Sahadatganj Bypass, Naka Hanuman Garhi, the DM Residence intersection, Guru Govind Singh Chowk, and the Civil Lines Tiraha will be integrated into the network, ensuring comprehensive high-tech surveillance and seamless mobility across Ayodhya.
